Stars roll up Taiwan for Golden Horse film awards

The solid ground is historically a robust contestant at the awards, however has long-faced increasing competition from Taiwan and urban center in recent years.
This time Chinese cop adventure story "Black Coal, skinny Ice" leads the pack.
Directed by China´s Diao Yinan it's eight nods and already took the Golden Bear award for best film in Berlin in February.

The film tells the story of a sunk ex-cop work a series of gruesome murders and is appointive  for best film, best director, best leading actor and best leading actor.
Two alternative solid ground movies A Fool and Blind Massage are up for the desired best film title, competitive  against Chinese Hong Kong co-production The Golden Era and Taiwanese baseball drama Kano.
Blind Massage, directed by China Lou Ye, has seven nominations for its portrayal of blind massage therapists, that includes some blind amateur actors.

Kano follows closely with six nods.

Veteran Chinese actor Gong, the star of Hollywood movies Miami Vice and Memoirs of a Geisha", is seeking her initial Golden Horse best leading actor title for her role as Associate in Nursing amnesiac lady awaiting her husband in acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou´s drama Coming Home
While they're titled on the North American nation Academy Awards, the winners area unit set by a jury, on the lines of the metropolis festival. Chinese yankee actor and director Joan Chen chairs the jury this year.
